With a traditional CV, it can be difficult for organizations to accurately gauge the real skills and qualifications of remote developers. This is because traditional resumes neither reflect the academic qualifications nor professional experience of remote engineers correctly.

That's why Elhunt has designed the AI/ML-powered ‘deep developer profiles’ which significantly helps speed up the hiring process. Companies can now filter out the best candidates without having to waste their time and effort going through thousands of CVs.

With the help of the deep developer profiles, companies can explore the strengths and weaknesses of each developer and decide if they are a good fit for their team. The deep developer profiles provide unmatched transparency into each candidate’s skills, experience, and compatibility with our customer’s assignments. The profiles also provide detailed information regarding a candidates’ educational background, professional acumen, ability to communicate, career path, their technical strengths as well as  weaknesses. Basically, Elhunt helps companies know their next developers better before they hire.

The profiles are dynamically updated and every Elhunt match is based upon the developer’s actual experience.

Elhunt developers have expertise in the latest technologies to effectively scale your business and build new products faster than ever. With Elhunt, companies hire remote software developers pre-vetted for 100+ skills, top tech stacks, and seniority roles.

  • Performance

Elhunt offers all its clients a risk-free two week trial period. Companies can start working with Turing developers and include them in their teams as part of a working interview for two weeks. If you are not impressed with the developer’s performance, you pay nothing (i.e.,no risk for you).

If you are satisfied with the developer, you keep working with them and pay for the trial period. In case you decide to stop after the trial, Turing can also identify the reasons for this mismatch and find you better software engineers who match your needs more accurately and start with their own 2-week trial.

Learn about the Elhunt Developer Rate Tool, and how to use it 🙂

At Elhunt, we help you build your dream career focused on your growth by using AI to match you with a multitude of high-paying jobs. We give you the autonomy to set your own rate, and the flexibility to work from anywhere.

What is the Elhunt Rate Tool?

When you update your personal information on the Elhunt portal, you’re asked to mention a ‘preferred annual rate’; i.e. how much you would like to get paid for the services you offer. Once you submit this information, the Elhunt Rate tool analyzes it on the basis of the average rate offered to remote developers of your tech stack and your experience.

Most partner companies that Elhunt works with, assign a specific budget for remote software developer roles. The Rate tool also reviews your expectations against them.

Once the set rate is reviewed, the Elhunt rate tool suggests changes, if any, to help you set a rate that will optimize your chances of being matched. In case your salary expectations exceed the expected rate for your tech stack and years of experience, the Rate Tool will prompt you to lower them for a quicker match.

How do I use the Rate Tool?

Once you receive our contact to update your rates you will have access to our  Rate Tool where you can set a new rate, update your information, and boost your chances of getting matched in less than 5 minutes!

For example:  If a developer can increase their chances of getting AI-matched to their dream opportunity by lowering their expected rate by ~20%, the Rate Tool will let them know.

If you’re getting the prompt, here’s how you can update your expected rates and get matched successfully it:

1. Access our Rate Tool via the developer portal or via the link you receive by email or WhatsApp 🙂

2. Review and Update your information: Review the three fields, Preferred Role, Years of Experience, and Expected Annual Rate.
3. Click on Update Information
4. Wait while we process your information
5. Click on Continue to update page

Once the Rate Tool reviews your new expected rate, you would be matched with an exciting job role and a suitable company.

Note: You might receive another prompt to lower your expected rate. This can happen when your submitted rate is above what we believe is a competitive for a developer with similar skills, tenure, and location.

After you update your expected rate we will send you a confirmation email with the details of the new rate.

Looking for more? I and if you have any concerns or require further clarification about your annual rate or any other aspect of your work with Turing, please contact us on our support channels!

Turing quizzes are multiple-choice questionnaires designed to assess your knowledge of specific tech skills. They help validate your professional proficiency and match you with the right job opportunities.

You can find the Quizzes section of your Turing Developer Portal HomePage.

Core Quizzes

Core quizzes cover the essential skills required for the role you selected. You need to pass at least one core quiz to continue. For example, if you selected Machine Learning your screen would look like this:

When clicking the Start Quiz button, you will see a pop-up window where you can read the summary and click on Start Quiz to begin your multiple-choice test.

You will then be directed to the Multiple Choice Quizzes test screen, which will be similar to the Work Experience Survey screen.

Once you’re done with the questions, click on the Finish button in the top-right corner and share your feedback.

Once you’ve uploaded your resume and entered your basic information, you will see the Work Experience Survey pop-up.

The Work Experience Survey is a simple multiple-choice survey that informs Turing about your experience and seniority level. The test has been designed to understand and analyze your past projects, product involvement, and professional experience.

Upon reaching the pop-up, you can read the instructions and click on the Start Survey Now button to begin.

However, if you want to take some time or better understand the vetting flow, you can also click on the Go to Developer Portal button, which will take you to the Turing Developer Portal’s homepage.

The progress bar at the top of the homepage displays your progress through the vetting process and informs you of your next steps.

On the Work Experience Survey tab, click the Start Survey button to begin your assessment (or access the Survey through the homepage). Although you will get 60 minutes to finish the survey, developers generally require no more than 15 minutes to complete it.

Remember, your answers on this multiple-choice survey will help Turing match you with the best possible opportunities and roles within teams.

Once you finish the survey, click the Finish button at the top-right corner of the page to record your responses.

Here you can also provide any feedback you have regarding the survey

After that, you’ll receive a pop-up confirming that you’ve completed the survey!

Every detail you provide on our platform shapes your profile in our Intelligent Talent Cloud and defines your Matching score. After passing all of the tests, you will be eligible to be matched with one of our partner companies.

So it’s time to set up a next-level Elhunt resume to back your scores with solid evidence. A competitive resume will make you stand out from the crowd and is one of the key factors that drive matching success. Elhunt’s Profile Enhancement Team helps developers like you, create a stunning impact on Elhunt’s U.S. clients and partner companies, by upgrading their resumes according to the market standards.

With a desired outcome in mind, the Profile Enhancement Team shares insights on how to capture the attention of potential employers.

Elhunt’s resume builder   In order to elaborate and state your work experience, Elhunt integrated a resume builder designed to intelligently arrange your skills, experiences, and past projects chronologically so that most hiring managers capture your best potential when scanning resumes.  However, there’s still a lot that you can do to catch their eyes in a few seconds:  Use bullets or sentences that start with action verbs. Share about your role, experience, and performance in the team. Exemplify hard skills on your hands-on contribution to the projects. We want to know what tech you used and for what. Problem-solving situations, and so on.  Use metrics that show impact as the outcome of your project. We want ROI, working links, and screenshots of the product.

Other than this, the Elhunt team will reach out to you in case we need complementary or crucial information, to boost your resume and matching scores.  Best practices for building your resume A good resume is honest and transparent. The PDF resume you upload for your application might only mention the jobs you’ve had, and some of your responsibilities, but hiring managers will need to know more. We want key insights on these as they speak volumes on your hands-on experience, how you have handled the technology as well as your responsibilities, and how your performance made an impact on the product or the enterprise.

A standard Elhunt resume should : Include 3+ hands-on projects which you worked on using your tested skills - briefly explaining how you have used them for each project Be around 500+ words - make sure your resume has a great volume of relevant information Back-up 3+ years of professional hands-on experience  When it comes to the project, it will have three different parts →  experiences, outcome, and skills. You will also have a section to add your screenshots and skills that you used on the specific projects.

Don't: Skip or ignore your confidential projects Do not disclose any sensitive information Upload personal photos

Do: Focus on the kind of product you developed and the technology you used for it Write about your responsibilities and skills implemented on its development Upload app links  Include screenshots of the products   Now, your next employer will know that you not only have good test scores, but you also have a solid background doing what they are hiring you to do.

A high level of trust is necessary for remote team members to establish strong positive relationships. Strong relationships lead to a positive working environment, it supports a culture of learning and leads to good performance.

To be trustworthy:  Use the communication tools provided to you effectively (e.g. emails, Slack, video conferencing, Workspace, etc.).

If the team is using a tool that is not familiar to you, research how to use it. Identify which tool is used as the team’s primary mode of communication. Set your notifications so that you are easily informed about urgent and important information. Organize and archive information so that you have a record of communication between your manager, colleagues, and/or reports.

Check your communication tools regularly. Respond promptly. It's important to acknowledge when someone has sent you a request. If you can’t act on the request immediately, let the sender know when you will take action. Not responding to messages leaves people feeling ignored and erodes trust.

Set your working hours. In a global remote working environment, time differences will impact your work. Set your working hours and inform your colleagues when you will be available to respond to requests. Emergencies happen, so let your manager know how best to reach you outside of working hours, in case of an emergency.

Sync your calendar, so you stay updated about meetings. If you are unavailable during certain periods of the day, block that time off in your calendar. Remember to place blocks in your calendar when you take leave or when you are off sick. Use your calendar to help remind you of important deadlines and tasks.

Respect deadlines. Your actions speak louder than your words. If you can't meet a deadline, inform your manager as soon as possible, provide good reasons for the delay, then agree and commit to a new deadline. If you don’t know how long a task will take, be honest, research how long it will take, then commit to a deadline.  Get to know your colleagues.

Social interactions are important. Take time to know what's important to your colleagues, managers, and/or reports. Small talk helps to build rapport. Positive, trusting relationships are built on good rapport.

Build confidence. Building confidence is not only about your confidence, but also about building confidence in others. Acknowledge other people's thoughts and ideas, if someone shares an idea build on it.

People will trust and listen to you if they feel heard and respected. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and ideas by speaking up in meetings. Contributing meaningfully to discussions shows you are engaged and willing to contribute to the team's success.

Teamwork requires cooperation, and cooperation leads to effective collaboration. To collaborate well you need to: respect the rights of others, be a ‘team player’, be cooperative, be assertive, and exhibit polite and considerate behavior.

Good video etiquette is also essential for good remote collaboration. When you’re working remotely, the most real-time collaboration will be done via video conferencing. Make sure that you are doing what you can to make each video call as valuable as possible!

Be on time, it cannot be stressed how important this is. If you are running late or can’t make the meeting, reach out and let someone know.

Make sure your camera works and is positioned appropriately so that your whole face can be seen. Test your equipment before the meeting to make sure that everything works properly. Mute yourself when you are not speaking.

Make sure you are seated in a well-lit room and there is no loud or otherwise distracting noise in the background. Remember to pay attention.

Communication is key

Your ability to express your thoughts and ideas in a manner that is respectful, but impactful, will help you get things done easily. If you can’t do something, let people know, don’t wait for someone to ask. Never be afraid to follow up and ask questions.

Practice effective communication

Focus on listening rather than talking. Being engaged in what the other person has to say allows you to focus on understanding and connecting with the person.

Non-verbal communication is important

When you interact with others, you’re continuously giving and receiving wordless signals.

All of your nonverbal behaviors send strong messages. They can put people at ease, build trust, and draw others towards you, or they can offend, confuse, and undermine what you’re trying to convey. In a remote working environment, good virtual body language means speaking up on conference calls, turning on your camera for video chats, and responding to emails and instant messages in a timely fashion.

Avoid communication barriers

When you’re stressed or emotionally overwhelmed, you’re more likely to misread other people and send confusing or off-putting nonverbal signals.

You can’t communicate effectively when you’re multitasking.

To communicate effectively and not put the other person on the defensive, it’s important to avoid sending negative signals.

Good writing skills

Good writing skills allow you to communicate your message with clarity and avoids misunderstandings.  Correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling are key in written communication, and using tools such as Grammarly help ensure that you construct sentences that are clear and concise.

Elhunt is quite flexible with regard to time off, and so are Elhunt’s partner companies but some protocols must be followed.

Elhunt is quite flexible with regard to time off, and so are Elhunt’s partner companies. However, there are a few protocols developers working on the platform must follow. These protocols are designed to ensure smooth functioning and organized workflows for Elhunt developers as well as our partner companies.

Planned time off

If you’re planning on taking time off, please follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Plan and give notice promptly (the sooner, the better).
  2. Get approval from your client manager first.
  3. Once approved, formalize your request to the Dev Success Team by submitting the Time Off Request Form

Note: It is mandatory to inform both client and Elhunt before taking any time off.

Unplanned time off

Of course, there will be exceptional situations where it becomes impossible to give notice beforehand. If you’re sick or in an emergency situation where proper guidelines cannot be followed, please get in touch with our Dev Success Team at devsuccess@Elhunt.com. This will help Elhunt communicate with your client company and make appropriate arrangements beneficial for both parties.

Keeping an open and reliable line of communication with the people you work with is essential for a successful remote collaboration. Both Elhunt's clients and internal teams understand that unplanned events might occur and cause developers to miss work.

However, Elhunt expects you to be responsible and inform relevant stakeholders immediately whenever such an event happens so they can plan and operate accordingly.

Performance reviews and StandUps information.

Yes. Performance reviews are mandatory at Turing as it helps developers receive timely feedback on their performance and progress.

Once settled, developers can be excused from standups if the customer manager requests an exception or if the customer has their own standup process in place Developers can check when their next performance review and standup is due on Turing Workspace.

Can developers negotiate their rates ?

At Elhunt, every engineer is allowed to set their own rate. However, Elhunt's specialists may recommend a remuneration which they know can find fruitful and long-term opportunities for you to grow and succeed. Elhunt's recommendations are based on the assessment of market conditions and the demand that Elhunt sees from customers.

In most cases, Elhunt’ specialists recommend remunerations that exceed what developers normally make in their local economies. Elhunt's goal is to provide engineers with stable, fruitful work and long-term learning opportunities, rather than have engineers frequently hop from one small project to another.

Transfer and withdrawal

Availability topics and additional informations related with how can you update it.

If you want to change your availability, just click on the availability status. This will open a pop-up where you can update whether or not you are available for a possible interview in the next 30 days.

Are you open to getting matched with a dream U.S. remote job in the next 30 days? If so, please keep your availability updated on your Turing profile.

Before talking about how to update your availability, let's understand what it means and why it matters.

Why do I need to update?

Turing has over 800,000 developers applied to our network, however, that doesn’t mean everyone is actively looking for work. In order to send the right opportunities to the right developers, our AI matching system considers your availability status and when you last updated it. By updating your “availability” you express interest in working with Turing clients. As long as you are interested in new offers from Turing, please make sure to update your availability every week. This will bump you on the search results and put you in front of recruiters sooner.

How can I update my availability?

To change/update your availability, just log in to your Turing profile and check the top-right hand corner . You will find your current availability status here.

If you want to change your availability, just click on the availability status. This will open a pop-up where you can update whether or not you are available for a possible interview in the next 30 days.

After updating all required information, click on the ‘Update and continue’ button at the bottom right corner of the pop-up. And just like that, your availability is updated instantly in Turing's matching system.

Once you have completed your profile, Turing will send you an email inquiring about your current availability. This helps us know that you are available for job opportunities that may come up in the upcoming 30 days. Turing’s matching system prioritizes developers who have most recently updated their availability.

If you have signed up on Turing but have not been matched to a job yet, you may receive this email in the future as well.

In order to maximize your chances of getting hired, it's best to keep your availability updated according to your latest schedule. As long as you are looking for a new job, please make sure to update your availability weekly. The system will automatically consider you unavailable for new jobs after 30 days of your last availability update.

However, this email does not indicate that we already have an offer waiting for you. This is one of the criteria that is considered while screening for ideal candidates. In order to ensure your profile is eligible for the exciting U.S. jobs that Turing is hiring for, please ensure the following:

  1. Clear the Turing tests and Coding Challenge.
  2. Update your resume properly (ask Turing for help if required).
  3. Update your availability, this can be done as shown above.
  4. Take as many tech stack tests as you can (show off your skills!).

Elhunt matches remote developers with long-term jobs and enlists them to work with leading U.S. based companies. Developers negotiate their own remunerations which are paid in full without any deductions or commissions.

Elhunt charges the companies a small premium for using Elhunt’s wide range of products and solutions.

Elhunt only offers and specializes in job opportunities for software developers.

But in the future, there might be strategic expansion to other roles as well.

Do check out the careers page periodically to check out Elhunt.com’s internal open positions as well. Here, you can find jobs across the board for a lot of our non-engineering roles.

Yes. Elhunt software developer jobs are contractual in nature. But unlike most contract roles, Elhunt focuses on creating long-term, full-time, high-value engagements — which are mostly long-term in nature (approximately 9 to 18 months).  Once you have completed a project with a client, Elhunt offers you lifelong rematching. You don't need to go through the vetting process again as your work performance would be factored in along with your previous results and added to your profile to help find your next job. Elhunt’s matching team will be working behind the scenes to rematch you with another leading U.S. company.

Currently, Elhunt’s developers have a rematch rate of 98%!

Will I be Elhunt's employee or the partner company's employee?

Once you are hired by a Elhunt partner company, your contract will be Elhunt. You will officially be on Elhunt’s payroll, even though you will be working for a leading U.S. that has partnered with Elhunt.

This is how Elhunt ensures smooth, stable payments and a really rewarding experience for developers.

While educational qualifications do help improve your profile, they are not an absolute necessity to join Elhunt. Turing’s primary goal is to help remote developers find stable, fulfilling, and flexible engagements with some of the most amazing U.S. companies. With over 1 million developers signed up from 150+ countries, across 100+ skills, Turing always keeps an eye out for the top 1% elite developers of the world, regardless of locations or educational qualifications.

In order to be successfully matched to one of our top U.S. clients, we recommend that developers have 3+ years of relevant work-experience after they have completed their college education. But this clause is not binding. Elhunt always values talent over degrees!

If you are a highly skilled professional with adequate experience and can clear the Turing tests, our team will reach out to you.  Developers without formal degrees need to be well prepared. Our suggestion is that you browse relevant websites (Hackerrank, Leetcode, etc) and complete certain online courses and certifications to upskill yourself. This not just reflects on your resume, but also helps improve your chances of being matched on Elhunt’s platform.

After uploading the resume, each candidate will go through some steps: work experience survey, quizzes, challenge, soft skills evaluation, and Turing profile.

Once these steps are cleared, our profile enhancement team will help optimize your profile and Elhunt’s AI job matching engine will start considering you for a wide range of jobs with leading U.S. companies based on your skills.

Kindly note that we may require additional assessments as we have some specific challenges that are customized for individual job offers!

Once you have completed the initial steps of our flow, you will gain access to the Recommended Jobs Tab. This is where Turing’s Matching Engine will share certain action items for you in order to optimize your profile for the available positions.

The purpose of these action items is to ensure that your profile reflects and showcases the full extent of your skills, abilities, experience, and caliber to our partner U.S. companies.

In most cases, the action items will be as described below:

  1. Update your availability
The first action item you need to complete is updating your availability. This is important to make sure Turing’s matching engine knows you are actively looking for work and can be considered for jobs starting in the upcoming weeks. Read this article to know more about updating your availability.

  2. Finalize your profile
The next step is to refine and optimize your resume and profile in order to make your skillset, experience, and abilities shine. Even simple things, like mentioning specific technologies wherever possible, can make it easy for hiring managers to understand your expertise better. It’s important to note that developers with more years of experience, and who have worked on in-depth projects are preferred by our customers. For detailed guidance, please read this article.

  3. Take recommended tests
Turing gets a lot of job requests from hiring managers of leading U.S. tech companies, and most of them are for candidates with a mix of multiple tech skills. Also, passing multiple tech skills makes your profile more visible in a larger set of skill combinations. In order to help you do this, Turing’s matching engine will suggest some tests that complement your primary skills. Taking these will greatly boost the number of opportunities you are considered for.

  4. Set your compensation
In this action item, you can schedule and connect with a Turing agent for an onboarding call. Here you can discuss your preferred hourly compensation rate, monthly remuneration, working hours, and ask any other questions you might have with respect to working with Turing.

With these steps, Turing intends to help bridge the gap between being qualified for career-defining U.S. jobs and building a profile that showcases you in a manner that speaks loud and clear to U.S. hiring managers and gets you hired!

Once you complete these action items, your profile’s ranking in Turing’s AI Matching Engine will be much higher and you will be eligible for a lot more jobs.

If you have any more questions regarding this, please feel free to reach out to support@Elhunt.com.

If you’ve passed Elhunt’s Vetting process, congratulations! The challenging technical part is over.

The next step of the process is to optimize your profile for the jobs and make it extremely hireable for U.S. companies. Elhunt understands the skills and qualities that tech hiring managers and recruiters in the U.S. look for while building their teams and so does Elunt’s AI Matching Engine.

In order to maximize your opportunities, Elhunt's Matching Engine will share the following action items for you to complete.

1. Complete your Elhunt Profile by adding extra information related to your experience.

2. Successfully clear our Soft Skill evaluation and Intro Call

3. Receive Recommended Jobs and wait to be contacted by Elhunt.

Following the guidelines and completing these action items will help optimize your profile before it’s presented to U.S. hiring managers and engineering leaders.

Once optimized, developers will also start seeing jobs pop up in this section below. Please note that these aren’t job offers, they’re just some of the jobs that your profile is being considered for by Elhunt’s Matching Engine. You may Apply or not.

Also our matching engine will actively present your profile for multiple job opportunities that match your goals, skills, and experience level. Once it finds a perfect fit, our matching team will proactively reach out to you.

If you have any further questions or need personalized assistance, please reach out to support@Elhunt.com.

Once you have passed the Coding Challenge and finalized your resume, it is our job to find you the customer. Your work is done, now Elhunt will bring jobs to you!

So, how does it go?

  • First, your work experience and tech stack tests are considered.
  • Then results of the Coding Challenge are factored in as well.
  • This is combined with your resume to put together your Elhunt Developer Profile.
  • After that, your Turing Developer Profile is presented to multiple customers.

When you are chosen as a possible candidate for the job, Elhunt's onboarding team will reach out to you and schedule a call. This call will be about a specific job opportunity and the expertise needed for that role. The onboarding team will discuss your availability, preferred remuneration, and your interest in the job. Once all the terms are established, you will be shortlisted for a job. If chosen, you will meet the customer in an interview.

It is important to notice that the terms discussed can be used for multiple jobs, and once established they are valid for the first job with Elhunt. The goal is for you to grow with Elhunt. So depending on your performance, your remuneration and role can always be renegotiated.

The minimum renegotiation period is 4 months, but it is always better to renegotiate between the projects, and not while the project is ongoing.

On this article we will talk about our Automated Practical Challenge and its objectives.

The Automated Practical Test (APT) provides an opportunity for our candidates to demonstrate their skills and in-depth knowledge in a specific tech stack by giving small practical tasks (up to 45 mins duration). It aims to provide signals for quantifying your talent and capability to operate in a realistic work environment.

These tasks will present day-to-day routines that our developers may face in their work. A good example of such tasks could be: add an API to follow a user or add an API to get a user profile or add an API to send an email, etc.

In our test you will be given a task description, functionality of choosing specific technology on which you wants to implement a given task, and a set of files with predefined content.

After you submits your results our system will check his solution and return feedback automatically 🙂

The purpose of this troubleshooting guide is to help you resolve common issues that may arise during practical tests.
