Crop Analytics
The agricultural sector is undergoing a profound shift due to Digital Transformation. Advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), drones, and Big Data & Analytics are ushering in Agriculture 4.0, offering solutions to complex challenges across the farm-to-fork chain.
The initial critical link in this chain is procurement, a challenging task crucial to the livelihoods of millions of farmers. In a country with a population of 1.3 billion, where agriculture contributes 18 percent to Gross Value Added (GVA) and employs about half of the workforce, procurement is valued at $488 billion. Ensuring that only genuine farmers benefit from procurement schemes is a top priority for governments. To achieve this, governments have digitized procurement chains by establishing farm registries that authenticate farmers’ credentials and integrating these with land records databases.
However, these efforts alone have not eliminated all inefficiencies in procurement and post-harvest management. Discrepancies persist between land classifications on paper and the ground reality. Furthermore, despite end-to-end digital integration, accurately tracing the origin of crops and the farmers who cultivate them remains a challenge. An integrated crop analytics solution promises to unravel these multifaceted procurement challenges.

Overall, the system streamlines auction processes, enhances transparency, and supports efficient management of agricultural commodities, leveraging machine learning algorithms for valuation and pricing models.
Public Distribution System Automation
Food subsidy programs have been implemented worldwide, spanning countries from the US and India to many across Africa. One of the largest such initiatives globally is India’s Public Distribution System (PDS), which offers subsidized food to nearly 900 million people. However, the system faces significant challenges. Inefficiency, pilferage, and adulteration are pervasive issues, leading to widespread leakages. Problems start with identifying eligible families, ensuring data accuracy in beneficiary lists, and ensuring that the intended recipients receive their entitlements. Additionally, many Fair Price Shops (FPS) engage in practices like under-weighing or switching to inferior products for profit.
Fortunately, technology presents a viable solution to these challenges. Automation, enhanced data security measures, and the use of biometric systems to deter identity theft can effectively address these systemic gaps in food distribution systems.
The system comprises the following modules:
✅Public Distribution System (PDS):
The PDS is a government-sponsored network of shops responsible for distributing essential food and non-food items to disadvantaged members of society at subsidized rates. In India, this distribution is managed through Fair Price Shops (FPS).
✅Beneficiary Registration System:
This module facilitates the registration of new beneficiaries, verifies their identity through biometric authentication such as fingerprints or iris scans, manages duplicates, and removes beneficiaries who no longer meet eligibility criteria. It plays a crucial role in ensuring that support reaches the intended beneficiaries efficiently. The system also includes resident database creation and management, leveraging biometric citizen profiling as a robust GovTech solution.
✅Stock Management at Depots:
Integrated with our Supply Chain Management System, this module ensures accurate dispatch of stock quantities to designated FPS locations. Each beneficiary is linked to a specific FPS, with groups of FPSs managed by respective depots. The module handles data related to beneficiary counts, commodity requirements for FPSs, and oversees the entire delivery process.
✅FPS Management System:
Critical for efficient distribution and audit trail maintenance, this module automates the daily allotment of commodities to FPSs. It verifies biometrics during beneficiary interactions, sends SMS notifications to registered mobile numbers upon collection, integrates data from digital weighing scales for accurate measurements, generates receipts, and uploads daily transaction records in the evening.
Supply Chain Management System
A critical determinant of the success of any farm-to-fork initiative is a strong supply chain that efficiently delivers food from farmers to consumers on time. In India, for instance, approximately 40% of farm produce is lost due to inefficiencies within the supply chain. Apart from infrastructure challenges, the inherent issues stem from insufficient automation, human interventions, and inadequate transparency.
The Supply Chain Management System encompasses several critical functions:
✅Quality Assessment of Produce:
Evaluates the quality of incoming produce at processing units to maintain standards and ensure consistency.
✅Leakage Prevention:
Integrates upstream and downstream processes with procurement and distribution modules to mitigate losses caused by intermediaries.
✅Stock and Inventory Management:
Manages stock levels and inventory using principles such as FIFO (First In, First Out) and monitors fumigation requirements to preserve quality.
✅Allocation Planning:
Generates allocation plans for depots based on demand forecasts to optimize distribution efficiency.
Developed through extensive GovTech experience across multiple Indian states, our system ensures comprehensive coverage. Built on a PAAS (Product As a Service) model, it offers modular solutions that can be customized to meet specific requirements.
